Call to Worship – Orlando Cangco

God speaks and the earth is created.

Ministry of the Word – Dave Hogan
Mark 9:2–9
Commission & Benediction – Edwin Choy
Go now, and speak of what you have seen of God’s glory.
Do not cling to the holy moments when heaven overshadows you,
but as the Lord lives,
let us listen to Christ and follow him
from the places of revelation to the places of mission.
And may God shine the light of glory into your hearts.
May Christ be with you and never leave you.
And may the Spirit renew the image of God within you.
We go in peace to love and serve the Lord,
In the name of Christ. Amen.

WELCOME
The church at Moulmein welcomes all to the assembly this morning.
.
TODAY’S WORSHIP THEME
God is present in Christ and Christ is present in us.
.
PRAYER
For the times we choose the veil of darkness
over your gospel of light,
forgive us, Lord.
For the times we choose to proclaim ourselves
instead of proclaiming Jesus Christ,
forgive us, Lord.
For the times we choose mindless action
over heartfelt devotion,
forgive us, Lord.
For the times we choose the bonds of fear
over the freedom of your grace,
forgive us, Lord.

Call to Worship – Peter Lee
(Psalm 30)
I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up,
and did not let my foes rejoice over me.
O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.
Sing praises to the Lord, faithful ones,
and give thanks to God’s holy name.
God’s anger lasts for a moment, but God’s favor is for a lifetime.
You have turned my mourning into dancing.
You have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.
Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning!
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever.
My soul praises you. I will not be silent.
1st Scripture Reading – Jordan Tan
Psalm 30
Prayer Leader – Edwin Choy
2nd Scripture Reading – Jordan Tan
1 Corinthians 9:24–27
Ministry of the Table – Neo Wee Suan
(Foo Sek San Gibson Tan Joshua Chia)
Mark 1:40–45
Ministry of the Word – Mark McCurley
2 Kings 5:1–14
Commission & Benediction – Edwin Choy
Go now, and live out our song of praise to God.
Discipline yourself in all things, however small,
so that we may attain the prize of salvation
that is ours in Christ Jesus.
And may God’s powerful blessing uphold you like a mountain.
May Christ Jesus touch you and make you whole.
And may the Holy Spirit dance with you in the joy of life.
We go in peace to love and serve the Lord,
In the name of Christ. Amen.
WELCOME
Welcome to our assembly this morning. We worship here every Sunday to praise and thank God who empowers us to bless others just as He has blessed us.
TODAY’S WORSHIP THEME
Jesus heals those who come with humility and faith.
PRAYER
Healing God,
we come to you this day
confident in your power
to renew and restore our lives.
There are times we come to ask for healing,
but our pride stops us
from accepting what you offer.
There are times when we run strong and confident,
infused by your grace and mercy.
But there are times when our faith falters,
and we lose the strength and hope within us.
O God,
forgive us when we fall short of the finish line
because we chose to rely upon our own power.
Forgive our unwillingness to accept your divine touch.
If you choose, Lord, you can make us clean.
Amen.

LIVING SACRIFICES: SERVANTS & STEWARDS
The heart of worship goes beyond beautiful songs and heartfelt emotions. In Romans 12:1 we are taught: “Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.”” Being servants and stewards is being like Christ. It is holy, it is pleasing to God.
We have been blessed for so many years. We have tasted God’s mercy. In 2012, let’s come to God. Let’s be transformed. Let’s serve. Let’s be living Sacrifices.
To kick-start this, we are launching a study of the book of Romans, which will run for 3–4 months. We will come together for a short lesson, and then split up to our respective classes to see how we may apply it to our lives.

And may the Holy Spirit strengthen you and encircle you.
We go in peace to love and serve the Lord,
In the name of Christ.

Come home with shouts of joy,
for Christ’s birth is ever near!
We are like people living a dream,
the dream of Christmas day.
Carry the promises of God,
for Christ’s birth brings new hope.

when the Sovereign Lord will save his people.
And may God who gives peace make you holy in every way;
May Christ Jesus clothe you with salvation and victory;

WELCOME
The church at Moulmein welcomes all to the assembly this morning. We worship here every Sunday to praise and thank God who empowers us to bless others just as He has blessed us.
TODAY’S WORSHIP THEME
The best preparation for Christmas is a life yielded to Christ.
PRAYER
Light of life,
shine into the darkest places of our lives,
that we may confess our sins
and move into the light of your love.
Flow through us, that your Spirit may rule our hearts
and transform our actions into justice and righteousness.
Forgive us when we cause weeping and sorrow,
rather than joy and hope.
Transform us to be people of your dream,
children of Christ’s promise,
and disciples of hope for all the world to see.
Amen
