Friends of the Disabled Society (FDS)

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9

Who It’s For

Our FDS community bridges the gap between children and families with special needs and our church through special programmes and events. We provide a place of refuge where this special community can share their struggles and be encouraged to be all that God has designed them to be.

When & Where

We have regular programmes and periodic events for our disabled friends. For more about our programmes, http://www.fds.org.sg/programmes/

Why We’re Here

Started in 2001 by our church ladies in an effort to heed Jesus’ call in Matthew 25, FDS seeks to meet the social needs of the disabled. We hope to inspire the lives of families coping with physical or intellectual disabilities and share in their miracles. For in one Spirit we were all baptised into one body of Christ.

What We Do

Besides providing avenues for the disabled community to interact among yourselves and with able bodied persons, FDS encourages independence by providing job opportunities.
Though the “Skills & Entrepreneurship Programme”, we equip and empower our fellow brothers and sisters to master skills for various jobs.

In addition, FDS has recently partnered with students from the polytechnics and universities to regularly visit the severely disabled and homebound at their residential home. Through this, we aim to create a heart for the less fortunate among our young people.
